I fought it, but I had to give in.

I have tried for days to convince myself that I wasn't getting sick. I stayed in bed until 3:00 pm Sunday because I just couldn't get up.  Eventually, I had to force myself because I had a three and a half hour drive home.

Yesterday, I kept telling myself "I am not sick" despite the fever, chills, hot flashes, etc.  I fought my way through it because there was no way I could stay home from work.  The kids were nutty because it was the first day back from break, but I survived it.

This morning, however, I lost the battle. I had to give in and get a substitute.  Thankfully, a wonderful, retired teacher agreed to go in for me; otherwise, I would have gone and been miserable.  I can't leave my kids with just anyone.

So, I've spent the day at home.  I'm feeling better, and I'm planning on working tomorrow.  Heck, I will work tomorrow even if this plague comes back with a vengeance. There's no way I can miss two days.  Even my best kids will turn bad without some consistency.

I hope everyone is having a good Tuesday.

  1. Ugh. That sucks but glad you were able to take today. My friend in Alabama got diagnosed with bronchitis and pink eye today, and so many other friends are sick. Seems to be the season, fa la la la la. *eye roll*

    Feel better soon.

    1. Thanks, Tam. It definitely is the season. Several of my students and coworkers are coughing, etc.

    1. Thanks, I'm a lot better, but this is the plague that won't completely go away. It's nowhere near as bad as it was.
